March break by province (typical timing)
Dates shift slightly each year and by school board, so always confirm with your own board — but the usual windows are:
- Ontario: one week in mid-March (usually the second or third week).
- Quebec: "semaine de relâche," typically late February to early March.
- British Columbia: often two weeks in mid-to-late March.
- Alberta: varies by board — commonly a week in late March, sometimes around Easter.
- Manitoba & Saskatchewan: usually late March.
- Atlantic Canada: generally early-to-mid March.
- Family Day (mid-February) is a popular long-weekend escape in most provinces too.
