Shoulder season — roughly April–May and September–October — usually gives the best mix of fares, weather and smaller crowds. Winter is the cheapest for cities (and the best for Iceland’s Northern Lights), while July–August is peak for the Mediterranean. If your dates are flexible by a few days, say so and we price the cheaper windows.

For summer and for spring/autumn shoulder season, booking three to six months ahead gives the widest choice of flights and hotels at better prices. Last-minute space does appear, so it is still worth calling for a trip within a few weeks.
