Planning a trip from Canada? Entry requirements vary by destination, and a Canadian passport doesn’t guarantee visa-free travel everywhere. Here’s a quick guide to visa information for Canadian travellers heading to the destinations we book most. Always confirm the latest rules before you fly — requirements change, and it is your responsibility to travel with valid documents.

India: Most Canadian passport holders need a visa to visit India. The convenient option is the Indian e-Visa (available for tourism, business and medical travel), which you apply for online before departure. People of Indian origin may instead hold an OCI card. Apply well ahead of your travel dates, especially during the busy wedding and festival season.

Pakistan: Canadian travellers generally require a visa for Pakistan. Most visitors use the online e-Visa system, and travellers of Pakistani origin may qualify for a POC (Pakistan Origin Card) or NICOP. Processing can take time, so apply early — particularly around peak family-travel periods.

United Arab Emirates (Dubai & Abu Dhabi): Canadian passport holders are typically granted a visa on arrival for tourism in the UAE. Your passport should be valid for at least six months. If you’re connecting onward, check whether a transit visa applies.

Umrah & Saudi Arabia: To perform Umrah from Canada you’ll need an Umrah visa, which we arrange as part of your package, along with the required documents and vaccinations (including meningitis). Saudi Arabia also offers a tourist e-Visa for eligible travellers. Ask our Umrah specialists and we’ll guide you through every step.

United Kingdom & Europe: Canadians can currently visit the UK and the Schengen area for short stays without a visa, but new pre-travel authorizations are being introduced — a UK ETA and the EU’s ETIAS. Check whether these apply to your travel dates before you book.

United States & Mexico: Canadian citizens generally do not need a visa (or ESTA) for tourist or business visits to the USA, but must carry a valid passport. For Mexico, Canadians don’t need a tourist visa for short stays, though a tourist card (FMM) may apply. Permanent residents of Canada who are not Canadian citizens should check their own requirements.
